Looking for a new mascara?
Then check out the Top 5 Mascaras our Pro Artists are recommending, and using, in their kits presently…
1. L’Oréal Paris False Lash Butterfly Wings – recommended by Lisa Matson
“This super black mascara adds wow factor to lashes without making them look overly ‘fake’. Its brush design and formula helps to extend outer lashes for a more winged appearance; the perfect finish for a cat eye liner look. I also find the little comb-like spikes separate lashes well and make colouring the lower lashes easy.”
*Available in selected pharmacies and department stores. RRP $25.99
2. Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Eyes – recommended by Tracy Nelson
“I have a few favourite mascaras, including No. 1 & 5 from our ‘Top 5’, but for extra dramatic lashes, suited to a rock chic smoky eye, I will reach for my Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Eyes mascara to do the job. PS. Once the mascara has dried fully I will give the lash an extra bend and lift with my heated eyelash curler for next level results.”
*Available in leading pharmacies and department stores. RRP $58
3. Blinc Mascara – recommended by Krisztina Moricz
“Blinc Mascara is my new discovery for clients who have problems with smudging and/or flaking plus it’s fantastic for contact wearers and on sensitive eyes. Unlike conventional mascaras, this one forms waterproof tubes around each eyelash to prevent undereye chaos and to allow for easy removal – all you need is water. The results are very natural, but if you want a little more oomph you can try their amplified version (as pictured).”
*Available in selected beauty clinics and makeup boutiques like Apotheka. RRP $45
4. Maybelline Great Lash
The worlds most popular mascara gets into the top 5 automatically. For price and results this mascara can’t be beaten. A perfect choice for teens or anyone on a budget.
*Available in selected pharmacies, supermarkets and department stores. RRP $14.99
5. Benefit They’re Real – recommended by Amie Fiebig
“This mascara is great if you want your lashes noticed plus it is a personal favourite of mine. It lengthens and separates the lashes beautifully plus has great staying power. Be sure to use a waterproof eye makeup remover for effective and gentle removal.”
*Available in selected department stores – Smith & Caughey’s RRP $43
Tip: Getting the most out of your mascara comes down to correct application. Start at the base of you lash and wiggle the wand side to side all the way up to the tips, then brush lashes into a fan shape – repeat until you have achieved your desired look.
