Faux Bob

Create our Faux Bob in six easy steps!

If you have long hair, this is a great way to give yourself a short ‘do’ without having to commit to a haircut.  It also makes for a fun alternative to a hair-up and with different hair accessories, or none, you can create a myriad of feels to this look to suit any occasion.

Products needed:

This look is easier to work with if you have a slight wave in your hair, so get the tongs out and curl from the mid lengths down, if need be.  From there you will need…

  •  Large Barrel Tong (if your hair needs more wave)
  •  Bristle Brush
  • Bobby Pins
  • Tease Comb
  • Medium or Strong Hairspray

Steps to your faux bob…

Step 1. Complete steps through 1-4 of Look #1 (unless you have naturally wavy hair or want a smoother looking bob) then section off your ‘longer’ side.

Step 2 & 3. Brush remaining hair to achieve a smooth, tidy ponytail, and place your hair tie near the end of your hair length.

Step 4-5. Fold the ponytail under and roll hair up to sit just above your shoulders and secure with bobby pins.

Step 6-8. Coming back to the front, remove the sectioning clip and fluff up hair ends with a pronged comb to create fullness and texture, mist with hairspray, roll hair under loosely and pin.

Tip:

Use the position of your finger tips, that hold your hair in place, as your guide for where to secure your bobby pins.
