Look 1 – Street Chic

Get your street chic on with a staunch ‘boot girl’ look and/or a sports luxe vibe.  Pair either of them with a midi length skirt, like this fab Witchery number, for a contrasting feminine touch.

Hair & makeup inspirationA sleek/wet gel topknot or low bun and a dark burgundy lip would be a great finish to either look.

Overland: Crenshaw – RRP $369.90
Chaos & Harmony: Bo in Black – RRP $329
Witchery: Soft Pleat Midi Skirt – RRP $169.90

Look 2 – Casual Chic

Weekends and carefree days are all about casual dressing. Throw on a pair of jeans and dress them with a neutral pair of ankle boots – flats or heels depending on your mood or activity plans.  On cooler days add a camel coat for a dressier classic look.

Hair & makeup inspiration A knot bun with a natural makeup with either a nude or red lip.

Mi Piaci: Parody – RRP $280
Novo: Jasia – RRP $79.95 (AUS)
Just Jeans: 312 Stretch Boot Cut Sky Jean – RRP $69.95 (AUS)

Look 3 – Boho Chic

Ankle boots with a grunge finish, with out without stud or strap embellishments, are a perfect choice for channelling  your inner boho.   We’ve paired our boots with a fantastic ethnic print maxi dress from Cooper (by Trelise Cooper).

Hair & makeup inspiration Tousled hair with a side braid and soft smokey eyes in brown with a nude lip.

Mi Piaci: Lafitte – RRP $390
Briarwood: Doris (Torba)
– RRP $399
Cooper: Cami Bee Dress – RRP $549

Look 4 – Classic Chic

If you’re a leather (or leatherette) pant girl you can’t go wrong with a pair of classic styled boots. Wear the Hudson Behn Chelsea flat boot, together with a long-length t-shirt and/or oversized knitwear, for a relaxed day look or the Stella McCartney heel, with a shirt and jacket for a corporate look or with an embellished (e.g. fringing or sequins) top for an evening look.

Hair & makeup inspiration Straight hair with a retro eye flick and a bold lip.

Workshop: Hudson Behn Chelsea Boots – RRP $289
Runway: Felix by Stella McCartney
 – RRP $1200
Storm: Leather Look Leggings – RRP $169

Look 5 – Feminine Chic

Streamlined ankle boots look great with a soft draping dress, skirt or pant.  Make more of a feminine statement by opting for light toned or coloured boots, instead of staple black.  Our look board outfit would be ideal for day – add a dressy statement necklace and you’re ready for an evening out.

Hair & makeup inspiration Textured chignon with light smokey eyes and a berry lip.

Kathryn Wilson: Hitchfield Boot – RRP $389
Number One Shoes: Dolcis Berlin Boot – RRP $79.99
Taylor: Silk Exchange Dress – RRP $447

Look 6 – Street Chic

For a ‘casual’ street look (one street look is never enough), add an ankle boot to a harem or low-slung pant – they’re easy to dress up or down no matter the fabric.   The two boots on this look board will suit a full length or crop legged pant. The zip detailing on both boots also adds an extra fashion forward element to your look.

Hair & makeup inspiration Fishtail braid with a graphic eyeliner look and natural lip colour.

Mi Piaci: Montz – RRP $360
Mischief Shoes: Formentini Nonna Boot – RRP $299.90
Federation: Relax Grey Pant – RRP $119.95

Look 7 – Corporate Chic

For work, an ankle boot should be both stylish and comfortable – wedges are a great choice.  When wearing midi length or shorter skirts and/or dresses, ankle boots that fit snuggly around your ankles can be more flattering. Grey and monochromatic colours are not only ideal office options, they’re also very much on trend this season.

Miss Wilson: Sydney Boot – RRP $379
Country Road: Wrap Midi Skirt – RRP $169

Look 8 – Retro Chic

Bring a little 60’s into your wardrobe with a pair of retro inspired ankle boots.  Wear them with an outfit that also pays homage to that era or make them a feature to a simple tunic dress or mini skirt.
